Voice Activated Latrine Activator
In my spare time, I experiment with microcontrollers and IoT to automate and simplify tasks around the house. This is my idea for a Voice Activated latrine activator ("toilet flusher") using Particle Photon, Alexa and IFTTT.

Alexa turns a servo motor connected to the toilet. When I say "Alexa, flush the toilet", IFTTT integrates with Alexa to call my 'flush' function, which I coded in Particle Photon's IDE.
Particle Photon is an exciting Home IoT hardware kit I found when researching gadgets online. Its uses C++ and built-in wifi. I'm excited about the potential use-cases, such as opening and closing of the blinds or curtain, turning on and off faucets, locking doors, etc.
